The WSMC sponsors field trips through the Wagonmasters. These field trips offer the rockhound the opportunity to collect a wide variety of materials from agates and jaspers to crystals and fossils. Experienced field trip leaders familiar with the selected collecting areas are on hand to help the novice collector find good quality material. Check with the local clubs in your area for further infomation.
Check out the Tools page for a description
of the tools needed for many of the field trips

According to Cliff Matteson, who spoke with the land manager of
First Creek (and Ed Lehman), the property will not be open to motorized
traffic again this fall. The roads still have issues, there
are slides, etc. No mention of trees this time. Rockhounds
are welcome however, to park at the gate and walk in to the various sites.
People are invited to contact Cliff to discuss options for visiting the various
sites on the property during this particular weekend. He has had some
suggestions from a number of people familiar with the area that he might be
able to pass on.
